MUST TRY: Steam Games for the Week!

The more popular steam keeps becoming each day with a dozen of new games being introduced, the more games you have to sift through to find the perfect one’s for you. To make it easier for you to play the ones that really deserve your time and admiration, we’ve made a list of the few that we have begun to really enjoy from the plethora of games. Now there are games like GTA or Fallout 4s that definitely catches your attention. So, we’re going to leave the already known ones out of the list and instead focus on the ones that you won’t expect to get addicted to.

First on our list is this game that has a name that reminds us of the game boy days. Developed by the duo Alex Barrett and Samantha Davenport, Squidlit has already released on March 2nd. It has a very retro-style outlook and a 90’s audio in the backdrop to make you feel nostalgic. According to its description, it is the closest “modern recreation of Gameboy game-design methods on the market.” It’s definitely very unique and worth giving it a shot.

Heroes of Hammerwatch

Another one released on March 2nd is this kick-ass sequel to Hammerwatch. Developed by Crackshell who add a twist to the previous formula making this one shift its focus from escaping to building and upgrading a town. Along with that it preoccupies you with raiding dungeons and retrieving loot. The best part about the sequel Heroes of Hammerwatch is the addition of 100 items and a new game mode! We definitely got addicted to this one, give yourself a taste of it.

We have been loving this one since its release on the 28th of February. Apocalipsis is the most aesthetically pleasing game we have come across. Inspired by 15th century European art, this adventure game really engrosses you. And coming from the Punch Punk Games, you can expect a funky twist like narration by a singer from a black metal band Behemoth. Crazy, isn’t it? “In Apocalipsis you play as Harry, for whom the loss of his beloved was the end of his world,” reads the description. “Now he has to venture out into the strange, unwelcoming lands to get her back. On his journey, he will meet fantastical creatures, straight from the minds of artists from the 15th century Europe, and ultimately conquer his own, personal demons.” Just by reading it you can imagine the kind of deep, moving adventure it would be.

Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2

After a deep adventure, it’s time for something for the action lovers. Sequel of the 2015 games, Guns Gore and Cannoli 2 released on the 2nd of March. The main character Vinnie Cannoli is now able to aim in 360 degrees which makes this side scrolling run and gun game even more fun. In addition, you will be able to double jump, kick, and dodge. Apart from this, the dual wielding and the improved movement and a whole new World War 2 setting, the game has maintained its classic outlook. The best part is that you can even play it with up to three friends locally or online.

Ion Maiden

Last on this list but definitely not the last of fun games on Steam. Why we picked this game to be on this list could be our bias towards the 90’s inspired games. And we especially love them when the controls are advanced. With unrealistically quick run speed and a modern level design, Ion Maiden gives us the best of both worlds. Released on March 1st and developed by Voidpoint LLC, this game has made it to everybody’s recent favorite.

All these games are the ones you could have easily missed but we think they’re worth giving a closer look too.
